GO WEST

On the 3rd of October the Athlone Photography Club went west, far out west, deep into the rugged wilds of Connemara. Eighteen intrepid photographers departed from Athlone equipped with cameras, lens, filters, tripods, lots of spare batteries, a heap of sandwiches, Lyons tea, a map of the destinations and a walkie-talkie to coordinate the convoy.

The first stop of the day was in a secret location known only to a few. We all entered the door of Hogwarts, parked up and trekked to the special area.

It was a good idea to bring the wellies 😉

Once everyone was happy with the shots they got, we packed up and surveyed the route to the next location.

Where Next?

The next location was a beautiful place called Derryclare Lough.

The Kelly Kettle

Time to make a pitstop and have a cup of tea with hot water from the Kelly Kettle® (get your Kelly Kettle @ www.kellykettle.com).

It was a great weekend in Connemara. Thanks to Tom who expertly organised the trip and rallied the troops. Special thanks too to Paul and Lise who divulged some of their special photographic locations in this beautiful part of Ireland.

The photos from the trip are so good that we’re making a special gallery for them. It’s coming soon so stay tuned.
